Objectives

The main aim in the pilot is to disseminate and popularize the idea of co.creation in Poland. Particular attention is given to the social housing of seniors. During the pilot the project has transformed from the senior co-housing into a neighbor meeting place.

This pilot is developing new arrangements for co-creation within the local environment of a neighbourhood in the city of Wroclaw. Informed by a series of co-design events applying Design Thinking methodology, the pilot engaged a group of students to construct a summer pop-up installation called the ‘PoPo Centrum’ in a green space in the neighbourhood. Although some actions during the pilot required orientation to senior needs, most of the activities involved different age groups. Building upon the pilot’s local achievements, it also aims to raise public awareness and disseminate and popularise the idea of co-creation in Poland

Results

This model should work towards recognising social outcomes as emergent properties of complex systems, that enable:

The desired long-term outcome was formulated as shown in the figure above. This long-term outcome assumes positive changes both for end-users, other stakeholders and the local community as well as the public sector at the local level. Additionally, intermediate outcomes with appropriate assumptions and preconditions, interventions and outputs, are indicated. Although the figure above appears quite linear, it is understood that that progress of the intervention requires an iterative and ongoing process. Moreover, it is intended to be flexible and used to guide strategy planning and execution efforts in relation to integrating adopted principles, forming a response to ad hoc issues, or a combination of these elements. A more dynamic picture of the ‘interventions and interactions with stakeholders was elaborated, see figure below.
