In this presentation, we will report on the implementation of ChatGPT as an AI-based course tutor and support tool for crafting laboratory reports in the 3rd-year Computer Science course, Computer Security I (DVGC19). We will detail the process of introducing these tools to students, including how we informed them about the limitations of AI assistance. Additionally, we will share students’ impressions and our observations on the impact of these tools on their learning experience.
The final part of our presentation will focus on our ongoing efforts to disseminate our experiences and results through our course, “ChatGPT & AI Academic Integration,” which is offered by the Centre for Teaching and Learning (Universitetspedagogiska enheten, UPE). We will also discuss the challenges we face in keeping our course material current in the rapidly evolving field of AI.
