KauKan! Educational development day

17 September 2026

On Thursday September 17, the Centre for Teaching and Learning (UPE), invites you to this year’s higher educational development day, where you have the opportunity to exchange experiences, have collegial discussions and take part in various development work on sustainability. The development day is free of charge and will be carried out on site at Kau.

Teaching, examination and educational development

What would you like to present or discuss?

Here are some example reflection questions that may inspire suggestions and ideas.

  • What pedagogical dilemmas do we encounter before and during teaching?
  • Which teaching methods do you use? Are there alternative methods that could help achieve the learning outcomes or increase variation?
  • What opportunities exist to make your teaching more student‑active?
  • How do we work with course evaluations?
  • Does your assessment cover all essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes?
  • Are your assessments reliable? Would another examiner assess the student in the same way?
  • Have you clarified the requirements, the structure of the assessment, and the types of knowledge and skills that will be evaluated?
  • Is it clear how students are allowed to collaborate and use different tools?
  • What would you like to develop? What would be your first step?
  • How could you work to enable continuous changes, large or small?
  • How can you make use of students’ and colleagues’ perspectives and experiences in your pedagogical development?

Until May 22, there is an opportunity to submit a presentation or discussion question about teaching and examination. Several colleagues can submit joint contributions.

  • Discussion questions serve as a basis for collegial conversations.
  • Presentation involves an oral presentation in a lecture hall of 20 minutes.
