Today we hosted the final seminar for the 2025 PhD-course Critical studies of power, politics and governing. Taken together ten PhD-students from different countries and universities participated in the course that began back in May. With the first modules being given through an online format the course then moved over to physical seminars and discussions in conjunction with the 2025 symposium.
The PhD-students have worked through a comprehensive set of readings roughly grouped into three post-foundational schools of thought: discourse theory, governmentality studies and assemblage theory. This served as a theoretical foundation that helped in later exercises where we worked through methodology and practical, hands-on questions related to “doing post-foundational work”.
