Annual symposium

PPG organises an annual symposium. The symposium takes place in the late summer, prior to when the fall semester starts in Sweden. It serves the function of inviting scholars from around the world to discuss and critically engage with questions and topics that resonates with the broader purpose of PPG as a research group. In other words, power, politics and governing are core concepts that cut through the various more specific themes of a symposium.

Each year the format of the symposium may vary. In general, we aim to host a symposium open for all interested scholars biannually and keep every other year for invitation only. Ultimately, the format is determined by topic, focus and purpose as well as available funding for the research group.

Each year, we also aim to offer one or more PhD-courses that overlaps with the symposium so that participating PhD-students may also benefit in some way from the symposium.
