Submission overview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We invite researchers and practitioners to submit abstracts for RisCon26. We welcome academic findings, case studies, and practice-based contributions on societal risks, disaster science, governance and policy development, societal vulnerability and exposure,&nbsp;natural hazards, health-related risks, civil preparedness, and capacity building that drive action towards a resilient society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-background is-style-wide\" style=\"background-color:#f9cf03;color:#f9cf03\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Choose your track<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To ensure a fair and relevant review process, please select the track that best fits your work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Track A: Research abstract<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><em>For researchers and academics presenting empirical studies or theoretical frameworks.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Background and Aim: Define the societal risk and the goal of the study.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Methods: Describe research design, data collection, and analysis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Results: Summarize the key findings or preliminary results (if applicable).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Significance &amp; Practical Application: How does this research help bridge the gap to practice? How does it strengthen a resilient society?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you begin your submission, please ensure your abstract meets the following technical requirements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table is-style-stripes\"><table><thead><tr><th>Feature<\/th><th>Requirement<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>Abstract length<\/td><td>Maximum 300 words<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Title length<\/td><td>Maximum 150 characters<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Keywords<\/td><td>3 to 5 terms<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Language<\/td><td>English or Swedish (both are welcome)<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Format<\/td><td>Oral or Poster (Final decision by the convener)<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Theme alignment<\/td><td>Select up to two sub-themes<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Submissions will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee based on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Relevance: Does it directly address &#8216;Societal Risk&#8217;?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Originality: Does it provide new insights or a unique case study?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicability: How well does it bridge the gap between theory and practice?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clarity: Is the writing professional and accessible to a multidisciplinary audience?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Track B: Practitioner experience <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><em>For national authorities, policy makers, emergency responders, industry professionals, NGO representatives, community representatives, and other practitioners sharing on-the-ground insights.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Challenge: Describe the specific crisis or everyday scenario addressed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Action: What measures, policies, or simulations were implemented?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Impact: How did this improve preparedness, response, or capacity building?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lessons Learned: Key takeaways for other practitioners or researchers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-background is-style-wide\" style=\"background-color:#f9cf03;color:#f9cf03\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Theme alignment<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You may select up to <strong>two<\/strong> sub-themes that best categorize your abstract:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>T1.1 All-hazard perspective: Integrated frameworks, multi-hazard, cascading, and interacting risks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>T1.2 Governance: Policy implementation, coordination, and cross-sectoral decision-making.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>T2.1 Natural Hazards: Extreme weather, climate change impacts, Food-Water-Energy nexus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>T2.2 Health-related risk: Impact of climate on health, population vulnerability, social determinants of risk.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>T3.1 Civil preparedness: Readiness at local and national scales.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>T3.2 Crisis training: Simulations, municipal exercises, and digital\/analog games.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>T3.3 Cybersecurity: Safeguarding critical systems and data during emergencies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-background is-style-wide\" style=\"background-color:#f9cf03;color:#f9cf03\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4.
