Teaching in Swedish Higher Education: An Introduction (SHE-2610)
The focus is on making both formal structures, regulations and responsibilities visible, for example the role of the university as a public institution, as well as more informal academic, pedagogical and cultural aspects of teaching in Swedish higher education.
The course is structured in three parts.
-
First, a pre recorded introductory film on higher education in Sweden and issues that are particularly important to be aware of as a teacher or doctoral student.
-
Second, an individual assignment in which participants observe a teacher in a teaching situation and conduct an interview.
-
Third, a concluding digital seminar where the themes of the course and the participants´ experiences are discussed collectively.
The course is intented to function both as an introduction and as a forum for reflection and exchange of experiences among participants with diverse backgrounds.
