AbstractIn our courses at the Information Systems department, we have seminars where we get to know individual students’ interests in the field. In contrast, when we publish general calls to an interesting seminar outside a specific course, only few tend to attend. Thus format of course is important for teachers’ engagement in students’ life goals, pondering, interests, and not only in their acquiring the present course’s learning goals, help us to connect a student to other teachers from other disciplines.
Moreover, interdisciplinary collaboration is crucial for enhancing students’ experiences and opportunities across subjects. we would like to share our collaboration with the Mathematics department at Karlstad University, which originated from the previous UPE event talk (2022). This collaboration seeks to develop technical tools for math education among undergraduate students. There are two key lessons to be shared in this case: firstly, the involvement of master’s students in interdisciplinary projects, and secondly, the utilization of tools like mixed reality (MR) to enhance the teaching of mathematical concepts, particularly graphical representation in education. During the presentation, we will share our experiences, demonstrate the tools, and provide preliminary results from mathematics students’ experiences.
