I get a 403 Forbidden Error

Yes. You can set up several sites on Sola @ Kau. You could have for instance one for an e-portfolio, one as a reflective blog and one as a place to play around and test new things, designs or workflows.

Do I need to study or be employed at Karlstad University in order to create a site?

Yes. In order to be able to create a site on Sola @ Kau you need to have a KauID. All students and employees at Karlstad University have this digital identity or account and it is required for log in.

What happens with my site when I leave Karlstad University?

When you leave Karlstad University you can simply export your site and create a copy of all your posts, pages and other content. Create another WordPress installation on WordPress.com or even better with some web hosting company and import your site there. That is the beauty of creating with WordPress.

Can I install different themes or plugins?

You are administrator on your site and can activate different plugins we provide and also choose between different themes. However, you are not able to upload or install new themes by yourself. Do get in touch with us in a situation like this.
