Participating actors
There are four types of actors participating in the Smart Villages project:
- Local businesses acting as hubs in each community – ICA Nära Sillerud and Radioelektriska in Sysslebäck.
- Regional businesses – ATEA och SBK Värmland, who contribute with their expertise in ICT and planning.
- Karlstad University – research team with staff from Geomedia and the Service Research Center (CTF).
- Collaboration partners – public local and regional agencies, who are key organisations supporting rural development. These are: Visit Värmland (Regional Tourism Board), Compare (ICT cluster), Karlstad Innovation Park (incubator) och Coompanion Värmland (advising in social entrepreneurship).
