The Project

Smart Villages is an on-going research project between September 2021 to August 2024, financed by The Knowledge Foundation in Sweden. The aim of the project is to contribute to the knowledge about being ‘smart’ in the society of today and tomorrow. It will also study how creative and innovative solutions can contribute to sustainable rural communities. The goal is to identify the needs of residents and visitors when it comes to retail, service and information. The work will also involve find or create solutions fulfilling these needs and contribute to both the attractiveness of places as well as business opportunities.
