Macro level impacts
Replicating models for intensive multi-stakeholder co-creation sessions with accompanying methods and infrastructural solutions, such as social hackathons in Estonian pilot, are examples of how co-creation can be spread nationally and beyond (also implemented in Hungary).
Social hackathon has become one of the flagships that represents the progressive mindset of Võru county’s community around Estonia. They adapted their social hackathon methodology successfully to different national contexts and other regions of Estonia. Also The university of Tallinn has also incorporated the method into its services offered to different stakeholders (ministries, local municipalities, corporations).
Even models developed during hackathons, such as ‘encountering training’ developed for youth workers in the Finish pilot (which won a national award and a grant to further sustain and upscale the training) may serve as successful examples of pedagogical tools in developing service ethics and enhancing the engagement of individuals from “hard to reach” groups.
Examples of an ongoing macro-level change where co-creation as an approach has gained political approval and was integrated in steering instruments potentially influencing mindsets on communities and public officials – much due to successes from piloting local villages in CoSIE – can be found in Hungary. A national Family Household Program promotes co-creation by granting applicant communities more points and chances to public financing if applicants apply the co-creation model.
