We teachers convey information. We often use other people’s materials, articles, books, texts and pictures. Most of it is copyright protected and you need to know how you are allowed to use different types of material. The so-called Bonusavtalet (Bonus Agreement) allows teachers in teaching activities at universities to copy and share copyrighted material more freely than normal, but where are the boundaries?
The University Library has collected information about which rules apply and how you can do to ensure that copyright does not become a problem on the page Copyright and teaching. There you will get answers to questions about how you may use and share digital and printed material and which agreements or licenses apply, e.g. the library’s database licenses, the Bonus Agreement or free licenses. To use research material, it is good to know the Creative Commons (CC) licenses. Likewise, how to find image material that may be used in e.g. powerpoint presentations. For the latter, links to image databases have been collected on a special page about Images and Copyright.
