Exams the ability to apply well-defined methods, such as mathematical calculation techniques, formulas, etc. with algorithmic solutions (this is unambiguously right or wrong).
Examples of this type of course objective are basic knowledge of how mathematical or physical formulas are used to solve type problems. Another example is basic accounting methods or basic programming.
The problem is that, for the basic typical cases, ready-made solutions often exist on the Internet or in textbooks. One strategy for dealing with this is to construct a bank with varied example tasks, where input values are varied and the individual students receive different tasks randomly from the bank. Such a solution can be made using the Quizzes function in Canvas.
- Using Canvas [only in Swedish]
UPE has good teacher manuals for how to use Quiz tools in Canvas. See Kom igång med quizzar in the table of Contents!
A special case is when mathematical symbols and layouts are required that are difficult to present digitally with e. g. word processor without special functionality. Contact UPE’s support for access to such aids.
